Dates have been selected in September for a repeat run - September 13th and September 27th. If this effort is successful we will offer a full schedule beginning in October. Future program trials, Saturday Night Out (Dinner & Movie At the Center), extended hours and Sundays. 

Nellis Youth Program, August 14th We continue our diverse intergenerational programming with a visit from 24 children ages 11, 12 and 13 from the Nellis Air Force Base Youth Program who will offer entertainment and intergenerational activities.

Jazz Foundation of America Concert August 19th at 10:00 am. Ernie Cosse and Nola, New Orleans Jazz Band will entertain sponsored by the Jazz Foundation of America as part of its efforts on behalf of musicians displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

UNLV Running Rebels at the Center- End of the month event featuring members of the Football and Basketball Teams will visit the Center with the team Mascot, participate in a senior’s athletic event and of course pose for pictures. Look for the date and time.

Also on the docket, our highly successful Tai Chi program continues every Wednesday at 10:00 am. Come join us if you are able.

BEREAVEMENT GROUP
The Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas is pleased to announce the formation of a Bereavement Group providing a safe haven for bereaved persons to share their grief, loss and recovery. We are fortunate to have the group facilitated by Susan Rhodes LCSW. The group is tentatively scheduled to meet on Thursdays at 5:30 pm on a frequency to be determined at the Center. If you are interested in attending please telephone the Center at 648-3425 and speak with Jennifer, Kate or Sandy to make arrangements.

CAREGIVER EDUCATION AND SUPPORT
We are pleased to announce the beginning of an important new initiative for our senior community. It combines an educational series touching on topics of critical interest combined with special support groups for caregivers and a unique program for caregivers and their senior family member. The program will be delivered in conjunction with the University of Nevada School of Medicine and UNLV. It will be directed by Donna Munic, PhD from the School of Medicine.
